Roll 2

Short roll today, folks. I left off the last three shots on the roll; they were supposed to be 'showing motion,' but I didn't get them to come out the way I hoped, and some of them were really dusty. (If you've ever tried to pan and follow motion with a waist-level finder, it takes a lot of getting used to, but using a TLR with no mirror blackout is nice.) Most of the earlier shots were shot with a yellow filter... supposed to increase contrast. Didn't do as well as I'd hoped.

Merry Christmas to everybody; I received a really nice flash and a bunch of accessories as well as a camera 'slider' for video work... both of which I will be putting to good use in the near future!

ARTS 2110 - Roll 2 - Fuji Acros 100

In the words of Natasha Vaynblat: "Wa hoo wah."
1/125 f/4 Yellow filter

I think this ended up in my final portfolio, but only barely.
1/60 f/2.8

E-Schoolers will recognize this as Thornton. CLAS kids might not recognize it at all. I still haven't got the contrast right on this one.
1/60 f/5.6 Yellow filter

If you're familiar with UVa grounds, on some of these rolls, you'll be able to trace my path on a given day of taking photographs. By the way, if you're familiar with the concept of exposure latitude (or dynamic range), a shot like this is much much easier to do on film than on digital. I tried to not make it look like a cheezy HDR. Acros will let you do that though; shadow detail is incredible.
1/30? f/2.8

People seriously break these gates off all the time. I'm sure many a college domicile has at least one of these up as decoration.

Ants on a paper plate.
1/60 f/2.8 Yellow filter (and approx. 1.7 stops of bellows extension compensation)

I guess that yellow filter kind of kept those clouds from blowing out completely, but only barely.
1/125 f/4 Yellow filter

Again, Acros FTW.

And here is a moody stylized dark sky image over Clark. Single exposure, though.
