My name is David Sawchak, and I'm a photographer. This is my blag. I find it curious that in English one is said to 'take a photo'; by comparison, in many other languages, one 'makes a photo.' I think it says something about our culture; as soon as I figure out what, I'll make a post to that effect.
Anyway, in the giving spirit of this holiday season, I'd like to share some of my photos with you all. My goal is to post one roll of film per day until I run out; then I'll probably switch it to something else. Anyway, I've got 20 rolls from this past semester, so I'll at least try to get those up. These will be cropped and more or less finished. Some of the really bad ones or duplicates I may just leave out, which should leave me with a good 10 or 11 photos per day. These are all 6x6 negatives on 120 film (on a Mamiya C330F, for you nerds). Where possible, I'll try and post any details on the exposures, but I left my notebook at school and can't remember all of it. More importantly, if any images have a good story, I'll try and post that.
If you want to post these or reblog them or whatnot, that's fine. Please do include my name, though. If you want to license them, definitely let me know. If you'd like a print of any of these, let me know that, too, and I'll make it happen. But this isn't meant to be a store. It's a pretentious venue exclusively for the self-indulgent enjoyment of posting my own photographs for other people to see, which is after all what they are for. Until I refine the design of this here blag, the photos will just be in a long row underneath the post. Forgive me, it's been 12 years since I've used HTML or any web design at all for that matter. (HTML was all we had then, and only 1990's web design.)
