Amuse Bouche in NYC - Year 2 - Part 1

I'm running out of rolls for class (20 over the semester), so I'm beginning to post other things as well. This is a roll I processed and scanned today, from a trip to New York with my comedy improv team Amuse Bouche. We attended workshops, saw improv shows, and bonded as a team. The first roll I developed from my new camera. (Mamiya 645, 80mm f/1.9)

I tried to reduce agitation and increase time to reduce contrast and increase shadow detail. This backfired, the negatives were very contrasty.

In Northern Virginia, the night before the bus ride up.

In a van, the morning of the bus ride up. I was in the back of the van on the floor.

In Washington, D.C. walking to the bus stop.

Getting out our reservations.

Eating breakfast.

Waiting for the bus, making goofy faces.

This is a really heavy crop; I was pretty far away. This composition is weird, admittedly. This is pretty much a 35mm sized crop out of the 645 negative.

Trying to sleep on the bus.

In a tunnel. This photo is hard to take; the lights are much neater when moving; you have to be there.

Getting lunch at 3pm in New York.

Killing time outside.

One of our group members is morally opposed to money.

I removed the prism for this shot to get a lower angle while remaining unobtrusive. The man was better lit, but I wasn't using a spotmeter, so he's overexposed.
