Roll 18

The end of Thanksgiving, and a return to school. I didn't go all the way back to my parents'; I had too much work to do in the darkroom.

ARTS 2110 - Roll 18 - Ilford HP5+

I think the speck at the top is a bird. I should point out that on most of the photos of buildings, at full size (often in excess of 30 megapixels), I could count the bricks on them.

Downtown Staunton, VA

A house across the street from the hotel next to the Blackfriars Playhouse.

The aforementioned hotel, from the other side.

Trash on the street. I don't often hold the camera very level; this one has been rotated. I need to work on that.

Staunton's capitol?

This is (the view from) where I lost (and found) my glove this Thanksgiving. At least that gave me an excuse to return and make these following photos. This glove-losing tradition needs to stop, though.

Closer inspection reveals the revisited abandoned building to be the Peery Building of the abandoned DeJarnette insane asylum. It's not just boarded up; the doors are welded shut. Apparently this was recent; I bet the interior was neat.

This fence has a gate; maybe it's the easiest way in.

Revisiting the Newcomb photo. Printed for my final portfolio.

Take two of the retake. This composition is not as strong.

A boring table at a Brown Residential College banquet. I bring cameras but there'e never really enough light.
