Color from my folder

From my folding Voigtländer camera (6x9)... quite an old camera, and expired film. I took one look at the negatives and thought they'd be unusable. (Very foggy.) Luckily I was wrong. Normally about 10% of the photos I shoot are any good. This camera gets 8 shots a roll, and it's not very reliable. Add expired film into the mix, and you can see why I don't use it that often. All told, this roll came out great.

Notes on the type of film when I find it...

This camera is index focusing, but I managed to get good focus anyway. Not sure what the dark band on the right is. Hiking in the mountains over Thanksgiving; compare to the black and white shots from the same trip which I've already posted.

My mom loved these plants with strangely purple stalks; fortunately the tone registered on the film. Expired film needs to be overexposed to avoid low contrast, and generally get a bit grainier, but can give a bit of extra saturation. Hard to work with, not impossible.

One of two consecutive shots I took like this; my dad held the car still. Didn't come out as great as I hoped (film was too old, maybe) but good all the same.

A derelict building near Staunton, VA. I ignored the "No Trespassing" signs.

My parents' front yard.

UVa when I got back.
