Out of Rolls... for now

It happened sooner than I thought; I'm out of rolls to post! Not to worry; I actually have more scanned, and more to scan, but I ended up scanning them out of order and I'm trying to post them chronologically. As consolation, here is part of the most recent roll of 35mm I shot... definitely the last for a while; I'm giving up 35mm. It's slide film, and color! And I scanned the slide totally out of order, so bear with them. I'll be back in the lab soon to scan more of the past semester, but for the moment, I'll be posting other things.

This was one of the first shots on the roll; I loaded this film when I saw this, just as we were leaving Charleston, SC (where I was born 21 years ago yesterday). Nice and touristy, this hotel on Marion Square is a favorite destination of my father, and has been since we moved from Charleston to Virginia 12 years ago.

This is adjacent to my favorite leitmotif: Newcomb Hall.

Yep, it's another darn photo of the Icarus statue. At this point, I was trying to finish the roll because I thought someone wanted to buy the camera. The roll was maybe halfway done at the time, so most of the shots are finish-the-roll shots.

View from the west side of Clemons library. Close to the view from the lab where I work (and scan these) but the windows are quite tinted.

From the patio of Clemons Library.

Also in South Carolina (as I said, they are out of order). Months elapsed between these photos of the hotel and the next ones I shot on the roll.

I think bridge is in South Carolina.

Another view from Clemons. Notice the mold on the air intake.

Tree branch near my residence.

This is why slide film has the reputation it does for color. I dare anyone to try this on digital.
