This roll has got a bit of everything. I exposed it at EI 500 (though my camera only adjusts in full-stop increments, so go figure) and actually tried to process it longer to compensate. In retrospect this was a mistake; most films say if it's within 1 stop that standard times are fine.

On my way to dinner...

On my way from dinner to a show by fellow comedy improvisers "The Whethermen." I printed this, but it was really tricky, and I ended up losing a lot of the crane in the fog. It still went in my final portfolio, once I got it as good as I could.

I forget whether this made it into my final portfolio or not; I was going for shadow detail (the steps are gross) but combined with the overdevelopment, the resulting negative was hard to print right. It took a lot of messing with in Photoshop, but I finally got that weed in the lower right to not be totally overexposed. This is darker (and more accurate) than my original print.

Extreme crop of two birds, who appeared to be engaged in a very formal, very civil bout. They would take turns hopping around each other (pretentiously?). I utterly failed to capture the essence of this interchange; right after I took this lame photo and moved in for a better one (as I said, this is cropped; I was much further away), I didn't frighten them away, but this moronic, obese squirrel lumbered into the fray, not breaking it up per se, but perhaps compelling the birds to relocate their duel to a more civilized space.

After the crop, you almost can't see this tree in the above photo, but I was standing on the wall behind the birds. Three foot drop on this side; not pictured: 15 foot drop on the other side.

The negative of this (and the image on the contact sheet) were terrifying, the actor on the right looked bizarre (thanks to motion blur). It came out pretty neat.

Deputizing.
